The nuclear power station in Limerick experienced a shut down in the Unit 1 reactor due to a problem with the main turbine control system on the electrical side of the plant.  The Limerick nuclear power station has two 1,134 MW units numbered 1 and 2.  Unit 2 continued to operate at full power.
