Computer glitch causes BART train service shutdown
BART train service was shutdown due to a computer glitch. An initial assessment of the problem was that a network router issue was incorrectly displaying data at the operations control center. Because the control center could not monitor the trains, the control center manangers decided to off-load passengers. The train control computers did not fail , therefore, the computer glitch was not considered a safety issue.
The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system was shut down for about 4 hours due to a computer glitch.
