Americold cyber attack

In November 2020 Americold, one of the world's largest temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics operators, disclosed a cybersecurity incident — later widely reported as ransomware — that disrupted operations and customer-facing systems. The company suspended its quarterly earnings call to manage the response.

Order processing, customer-facing systems, and inventory tracking were disrupted across multiple distribution centres. Americold reported no loss of perishable inventory but acknowledged operational impact on customers shipping COVID-19 vaccines and other temperature-sensitive products.
