Clark County water hack

In 2016 a member of the public used default credentials to log into the SCADA interface of a Clark County, Nevada water-system testbed and posted screenshots online. The system in question was an isolated demonstration rig, not an operating water utility, but the incident drew attention because it was widely misreported as a live-network breach.

No impact to operating water service. The county clarified the affected system was a vendor demo and disconnected the asset from the public internet.
