Description
In September 2013 the Carmel Tunnel toll road in Haifa was reportedly disrupted by a cyber incident affecting traffic-management cameras and ventilation systems. Israeli authorities later disputed the cyber-attack framing, attributing the outage to a system fault, but several US officials and media reports continued to cite it as an example of OT-targeting attacks.
Impact
The tunnel was closed for roughly 20 minutes during the morning rush and again for around eight hours later in the day, causing major traffic congestion through Haifa.
